Safely de rim tank advice

Hey everyone. I’m new to the forum so sorry if this is formatted weird. I was wondering if there was a way to safely de rim a glass aquarium. I recently traded a 40 long aquarium and i cracked the rim. I noticed it was actually super fragile and would probably break and chip away with time making it useless. I was thinking i could de rim the tank and maybe place some bracing on the middle and the sides to keep the pressure off the seams. I need to redo the silicone on it too i just really like the rimless look and a new rim for the top and bottom would cost more than the tank is worth.
thank you for your help

Is this the type with a black rim? If it is I looked this up a long time ago and basically everyone agreed it was a bad idea to try and remove the rim

Yes it is one of the ones with the black rims. Yes i saw people say it was iffy but no one mentioned if it would be okay with a euro brace or something like that. Or if anyone had any ideas for me to get some sort of rim that wont cost $65 to get a new one
If i can’t fix it it will become trash most likely and it would be a shame. It’s chipped and probably will crack more with time so it’s not just a aesthetic thing it’s also just cause it’s already damaged and i’d like to still use it

Id assume it would depend on the thickness of your glass if it would work or not.

How thick should it be do you think?

Id go have a look at rimless tanks with the same measurements as yours and see how thick they are and what kind of bracing they have.
