Sad fish (

one of my Zebra Danios is not looking well. Its fins are not opening and appears to be having trouble swimming. He stays at the bottom of the tank a lot because of this. Should I take him out, do you think this might be a disease or should is he just "disabled"? I noticed that he was like this when I got him back from the store.

 

I would isolate him in another tank. How long have you had him? What size is your tank and how long has it been set up?

I have had him just about 4 or 5 days, Mainly he is having difficulty swimming and then resting at the bottom. From the looks of it, he has abnormal fin structure and that just may be making him tired. Could this be a possibility?

 

set up for 2 weeks.

 

Have you cycled your tank? High ammonia levels can make an already weak danino very sick. test your tank and please keep us posted! hope he gets better!
