This is my latest project in Ceramics class. Its a pinch pot (3 to be exact. The body is two, and the "nose" is another one.) piggy (fishy?? lol) bank, and its all hand made. The scales were done by using a round carving tool and just pressing it into the clay sideways. He doesnt have any analfins because they wouldnt stay on =( But he's still cute <3 He will be fired soon, and then glazed! Color sugestions are welcome =)

P.S. Dont mind my friends totaly confused look XD

Thank you! My hopes were that the fins would hold it up, so I made them nice and sturdy, but I still had to make a foot ring as part of the grade... Still looks good though, even after the whole stupid tail fell off, and I had to do fishy-pinch-pot surgery >.<

I just found out you can put clay in tank. You may have a future in aquarium decor.

Now thats a brilliant idea! Next we are doing coil pots, I could do something really cool and use it in the 20 gallon! But then theres the glaze... I dunno if thats fish safe or not >.< I would have to coat the stuff in silicon just to be sure...

Hello Akari,

You have a great talent there! I think I would leave it natural and not color it or paint it. I love it!

Thanks for sharing with us and keep up the good work!

Wow! He is totally adorable. Many moons ago I made a few pinch, coil and wheel thrown items. Looks like you have "the touch". Can't wait to see more of your work!

Wow! I leave the forum for two days and come back to all these responses o_O LOL

Thanks guys!

Unfortunalty, Ken, I have to glaze it, since its for a grade, but I think it would be neat to leave it alone after it was fired >.< Lorabelle, you would think, but I dont know if it works that way or not. Thats the kind we use, though. Mike TNX, I'm not sure. His tail completely fell off when I was almost done, so I had to sogg him back up pretty good to fix, and use ALOT of slip. Hopefully, by the end of this week I will get him glazed and refired, but you never how the schedual will be in a class like ceramics lol

Thanks again guys!
