Wrona0306

Hi everyone
Why my rotala rotundifolia always grow with some problems. Day after planting my rotala grow narmaly but after when roots settle and rotala start grow leavs getting wird brown dyscorolation and brown spots. New grow after tremming looks better more greenish but still with some issues. Soil is from tropica, fertilizer i use is from tropica also , one week i use premium and another specialise with phosphate. Lifgt is sunsun 12 watt 8h a day, tank is self is 25 l
Phosphate level is 0.5
Nitrates 10
Kh 2
Gh 4
Ph 6.8
I dont have different water parameters except that one. Anyone have any idea what is happening.

Hi Wrona0306 , The picture helps a lot. Are you dosing the recommended amounts and frequency, especially the Tropica Premium? I ask because the most obvious deficiency (interveinal chlorosis on new leaf growth; poor green coloration between leaf veins) I can see is related to insufficient iron. With an acidic pH of 6.8 most of the various chelate types of iron should be available to the plants so it is likely do to insufficient dosing.
1) Verify you pH is really 6.8
2) Increase dosing to 2X the amount you are doing currently
3) Do the above for 1 month

Since iron is one of the immobile nutrients you should start to see improvement in a couple of weeks. DO NOT WATCH ANY EXISTING GROWTH, IT WILL NOT IMPROVE. Instead watch the new leaves as they emerge, do they look greener? Healthier? You may also see an increase in the growth rate of your plants. Hope this helps! -Roy

Hi Wrona0306 , No, Seachem Flourish contains lots of micro-nutrients but insufficient macros for most planted tank applications except low tech. Why not try what I suggested and see how works for a month? -Roy
