Root tabs dissolved before I could stick them in the substrate

    Stupid root tabs dissolved before I could stick them in the substrate ... :( I only have one plant that really needs them. Sucks

    Are they standard root tabs that you buy in a pet store or are they the non-traditional ones like Osmocote? The non-standards contain elevated urea levels, which is basically ammonia. If they dissolve in the tank water then you're introducing ammonia to your fish.

    They are standard api root tabs. Turned the water white and dissolved two of them trying to get them in the sand. I'm going to return them tomorrow and try a different brand. Later in the week
