The empty 29 gallon is sitting empty on stand. Was going to sell, but, don't know. Thinking of a riparium with mostly plants, some water or land animal habitat. I don't want full tank of fish this time. Already have 55g.
What do you think?

It might be kind of fun to set it up as a minI habitat/terrarium type set up. Soil in the bottom, lots of little plants and ferns planted around the edges, moss across the center part, a hollow log or two for a hiding place, and a minI stream or pond in one section that is self contained so the dirt doesn't get too soggy. That way, you could go with a lizard, or a frog, or a large snail, or even a combination (provided they all get along).

That is nice! What plants did you use? Is it humidified or regular top? Thanks.

That is gorgeous! That looks so much better than my own newt tank...

That's mine, except it has a few Java Ferns and Anarchis in there now, nothing impressive like the one DiTrolio posted. I want to do that badly...

You should do something like the one DI posted but with frogs/toads. Much better said than done though.

I would make a rainforest type set up with a waterfall in the middle and moss all around. Stock it with Dendrobate frogs.

Paludarium all the way! I'd like to have a lizard with a small school of fish and a couple frogs. I really like the rainforest idea.

The rainforest needs humidity. Too complex for me.

That's what the water fall and fogger are for.

The fogger doesn't really do anything except add effect. To get real humidity that dart frogs need, you'd have to mist daily.

You can have a mister hooked in with the waterfall/pump. That way it would have the constant moisture that it needs. Also, with enough plants for oxygen, you could also have it mostly sealed off - that would help to retain the humidity that it would need.

Hahaha! I wish! I just used that as an example, its not mine. I am however looking to make one of my own very soon.

I looked into and too much work and $. I live in NH and it gets cold w/ power outages being common. Whatever goes in can't be tropical.
