Retrofit Canister Filter Into Ar980 Tank

    So I've never found photos, but have seen stories of people doing it.

    I didn't like the "1000 lph" pump in it as it struggled to deal with a clogged pre-filter. So I bought a 1400 canister filter and did this.

     

    Hack saw and stone polisher drill bit to cut the curve section.

    Slight hum now because of the water pushing through the outlet holes. (Used 2 of the 3 segments). Took around 2 hours to cut and then put the new canister together with the BB from the old filter.

    I put all the filter media from my wife's first filter into her canister filter as it could fit. I have to leave some of the AR980 hard plastic casing and the cloth out... But all the noodles, mesh and extra filter padding all fitted.
