I have a 10 gallon tank (filter, heater, air stone) that isn't in use. I had neon tetras and a dwarf gourami in there before and a betta even before that.
There haven't been any fish in it for the past 6 (ish) months so the cycle is over and I've cleaned it all over. I was wondering what to do with it now. It's uncycled, and I'm willing to go through a fishless cycle but I've been reading about alternatives like Seachem Stability or Tetra Safestart or Fluval Biological Enhancer. Should I use them?
I'm not sure what fish I want to get. Looking at black skirt tetras or cardinal tetras, or maybe cardinal tetras and a female betta, but I'm not sure yet. How useful is a product like Seachem Stability that I can safely use it with cardinal tetras, for example? I know that Tetra Safestart is considered the best but I'm in Canada and it's not available here.
So, can I possibly cycle a tank using Seachem Stability (or another product like it, any suggestions are welcome) with fish like black skirt tetras or cardinal tetras? Would it work?
(Also, I'm home for the summer, so I'll stay on top of water changes if need be.)
