Hello. Today my Betta Griffin died, I got him at Petco in October of 2019. He lived a very happy life, and for that I am glad. He was my very first fish and I hope I did a good enough job taking care of him. He had gotten sick and was not moving much nor eating. This morning he decided it was his time to leave. Thank you all for helping me try to cure him all this time. Thank you. I'm not going to give up fish keeping, it brings me joy to have a little fishie bud. This morning we talked to someone from a really, really great fish store and he told us that Griffin probably died of old age and an infection in his body. Rest in peace Griffin. ♥

Some nice pictures of him v

(any advice on getting over a fish? I'd really like to keep going with more fish but every time I see his tank I just melt)

Very sorry for your loss

I personally don't see 1 pet as replacing another. A bit over 10 years ago, I lost my first Rottweiler Athena after 3 months of cooking and spoon feeding her. I got my new girl 1 week later. I was ready.

Other ppl think they have to mourn, but it's up to how you feel. Love is about sharing, not a timeline.

Each pet is somewhat different as is each fish. Athena taught me a lot, but my girl Bella taught me even me!

if you want a new fish, then get one. All the knowledge you learned with Griffin will benefit the new one.

RIP Griffin.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is never easy to loose a pet. I'm sure you did everything in your power to give Griffin a healthy and happy life. He was lucky to have you. Knowing I did everything I could for a pet helps me with my grief. Again I am so sorry for your loss. Rest in peace Griffin.

Sorry for your loss. It's the unfortunate (and inevitable) reality for anyone who has experienced the joys of spending time with a loved pet. Griffin had a very nice setup, certainly much better than the cup he called home for a while until you brought him into your life.
