Resin Sculpture - Safe Or Not?

Hi, everyone!

I recently got a betta fish named Michelangelo (good size tank with filter, heater, etc.).

Due to his name, I want to retheme my tank to a sort of Roman theme.

I would love to put a minI statue of David in the tank, but I couldn't find any that were waterproof/made for aquariums. I found one on Amazon that is a foot tall, has no sharp edges, and is made of resin.

Do you think this will be safe to put in the aquarium?

Is there any kind of sealant that could be sprayed on to make it safe?

Krylon is an acrylic based spray that can be used to coat decor, rocks, and other items you wish to put in your tanks.
If there is ever any worry of leakage, apply 3-5 coats of krylon for safety and piece of mind.
Krylon is waterproof and only wears with mild damage caused by running water, and physical damage.
I believe resin is tank safe though.
I don't exactly recall... So to be on the safe side, you can seal it.

 

The resin itself is aquarium safe but often the paint used on them Isn't. So yes krylon it. Its cheap assurance.

You can find it at places like walmart, ace, lowes, and home depot too I think.

I bought my can at walmart.
It's a soft gloss one I think.
Makes it sorta shiny but not so much it changes the way things look.

Yep clear too. Both gloss and dull finish.
