So I've researched and asked questions and it Seems one site says this, the next says something different. Everyone on here has different opinions and views. So I simply want to know, what else would you put in if this was your tank?

I have a 55 gal tank. 20½ inches tall. Currently have
7 checker barbs
4 cherry barbs
4 bronze Cory

(I bought all they had at the LFS of those 3)
And 1 male red honey gourami.

Really wanted an Angelfish but have been told they are not temp compatible with checker barbs. Totally bummed me out. Almost just wanna sell the whole thing.

???

You could always rehome the checkered barbs and then get angelfish?

You still have lots of options, but I would increase the cherry barb and cory schools before adding more species.

HI Kelly,
Sorry you are feeling discouraged about this. If you look up the fish you want on google it will tell you the temp they can have, there will be a high and lowest temp for them. For instances I just checked and Angel fish and checker barbs can both be in 25c and be okay. And your gourami could also tolerate 25c too. I am not an expert on stocking tanks but if you check the temp through google search engine and its in range of your tank and fish you should be fine. Compare the temps, if they are a match then go get yourself that Angel fish Just remember Angel fish like pristine water conditions...

You don't want to keep fish at the extreme ends of their temp ranges permanently, so no, there is no overlap between angelfish and checkered barbs without keeping them at their extremes.

Beware that a lot of sites giving info on fish temp ranges aren't accurate.

HI Texas,
I wonder why sites would give info on temps if it wasn't safe to keep the fish at those temps?

Because they're often misinformed. Not all site are reliable. I like FishBase because they're backed by collecting info, citations, and ichthyologists.

Oh right, well I wasn't to know this. Its hard when there is such a lot of info on the web but yet it can be inaccurate. I will book mark the seriously fish site for future reference thank you.
