Rescued Free Betta From Work

I work at a chain pet store and when our betta fish delivery came in, there was this little guy with completely shredded fins. He's supposed to be a rosetail. We kept him in the back and I was off for three days, and when I came back he was still kicking and active so I got them to adopt him out to me. His name is Zuko, and he's got a 10 gallon all to himself now with plenty of tannins in the water.

 

Can't tell if those are nipped or fin rot because clarity, but definitely missing a whole lot of finnage...poor guy

Its ripped fins, I checked him over and there's no signs of fin rot luckily. I've had him for just two days and they've already got a bit of regrowth going on

Some stress coat may help with that regrowth as well as frequent water changes.

Update: He's so friendly and healing well! He swims up to the glass to greet me and goes into his betta log for feeding time

 

I definitely see the clear regrowth on the fins!
