Reputable Fish Shipping?

It seems as though every fish store In my city is either out of German Blue Ram, or have severely unhealthy ones. Does anyone know any websites that ship breeding pairs that is also reputable? The only place I found sells them for 40 dollars and they are too young to sex. Last pair I got were easy to find, it's very annoying! Probably too cold.

Hey! Thought I would chime in because I was having the same problem.
Go on aquabid and check it out
They have some decently prices rams with free shipping. Some sell pairs. My suggestion though it to always check out the breeder before purchasing, you can usually google the name or their website will be in the description.

One of was looking at is Yunite.
This breeder seems to have good quality fish. Just google the name and you can check out the website.

Beware if you are north. Shippers do their best, but you had better be prepared for their more expensive options, especially for cold sensitive fish like rams.
I'd opt for patience.

Funny thing is I work at a fish store, and every time we get them in they die because we can't keep an individual tank over 80 degrees. Our tanks are usually 76-77 which is frigid to them.

Yea. I feel ya. I work at a pet store too and certain fish just aren't meant for pet stores it seems. Its just too hard to maintain the requirements for all the fish, not that they truly care to begin with

One of my local stores stopped selling Rams a few years ago, and replaced them with a variety of easier to keep Cichlids. But once the mutant forms hit the market, demand was too high.
He still refuses to sell the balloon deformity ones as he agrees breeding them is cruel, but he gave in to demand and stocks Rams again.
It's a creature originally from pristine super soft low pH Colombian and Venezuelan savannnah type water that site in the mid eighties f.
By nature, it's a short lived fish. The inbred and linebred forms are less selective about their water needs, but temperature is still an issue.
The fishroom manager there says its the perfect industry fish: pretty, short lived, easy for hobbyists to kill and dirt cheap from the farms. He does slow down on ordering this time of year because of mortality in shipping, but he says that Rams are the fish people replace the most. Often, when other fish die, they try something else, but people seem to return to Rams and Bettas.

So there may be a reason your stores don't have Rams in January. It might be something to consider.
