Some val in one of my tanks has grown a lot, so I want to take some of it and put it in another tank. However they are all connected by a shoot that runs into each plant. Do I just cut it or will that kill the plant?

Can't you just pull out the plants that you need, and avoid doing any clipping?
I wasn't exactly sure what you meant.

I would think you can take the runners and cut some of the roots from the stem. Perhaps try a small batch and see how that works.

Yeah it was the runners, I couldn’t remember the name

The thing is that they are all attached by the same runner, but I do t want the whole batch of val, only part of it
