Removing Glued Plants From Driftwood

Using super glue gel worked great for attaching my java fern to my driftwood, but now I want to remove my plants so I can attach them to new pieces that I bought.

Just wondering if anyone has any tips to save as much of the plants as possible before I start hacking at them with a knife.

To be more clear, the current wood will not be remaining in my tank (won't have enough room for it).

Thankfully, most of the roots are free floating. The plants have only been in place for about three months.

 

Most glues plants will come off pretty easily if you gently remove...unless you went glue crazy... if you did then I would try to get under the glue and lift up...

 

Acetone (nail polish remover) should take crazy glue off.

 

It should come off quite easily.

 

I am a little confused. These are plastic or real plants? I have never heard of using glue for live plants.

 

Super glue gel is great for attaching live plants. Aquarium safe and much easier than other methods I've tried - thread, zip ties, etc.

If you loose some roots it will be fine, since most are free floating. Clipping some roots encourages new growth.

And at 56 I am still learning. Interesting. Will have to try it!
