Removing glue from background

devsi

I bought a tank with a background I didn’t like, so removed it but it has left behind this horrible glue.

I tried removing it before putting the fish in, but I had limited time because the fish were in buckets with no heater/filter while I was moving stuff from old tank -> new.

I tried anti-bac gel, nail Polish remover and elbow grease but as you can see, it didn’t work.

What’s the best way of getting it off, just be fish safe as there are fish in the tank now.

Thanks!

Multiple single sided razor blades. Replace them often. That is how you clean glue of glass, NOT acrylic.

However with fish in the tank you may have to be a bit careful the fish don’t think the chunks of old glue are food. A fish net would be recommended to catch the old dry glue.

Thank you. The fish thinking it’s food isn’t an issue, as the glue is on the outside.

When I meant fish safe, I meant just in case the product were to seep through into the tank.

I should’ve made that clearer :)

Then use lots of water with a spray bottle to keep the razor bladeS wet.
