I have an ro/dI unit that I already use for saltwater, and I have my reasons for not wanting to use tapwater.
I'm trying to decide the best remineralizer (or at least narrow down my options) for a planned tank:
Fluval spec v with stock pump and light, sand and gravel for substrate, a few (4-ish) different low-light plants, some driftwood and almond leaves, housing a betta plus a snail or two. Maybe considering some shrimp after a few months.
I've found Seachem's equilibrium but understand I would likely also need the Alkaline Buffer and Acid Buffer.
I then saw Brightwell NeoTiger gh/kh+. Though it's more specifically for shrimp, the description makes it sound like it would be good for plants and fish as well. It's more affordable and just one item that I would need to add.
I'm sure there are differing opinions on this, but I'm hoping for some input from those more experienced than I am!!
