No, unfortunately, I wish I had someone who loved (and knew about!) fish like me! 0morrokh and I are like twins, and we are only about a half hour away from each other, but I don't know her (at least, I don't think so... )

the only other person I know that has fish is a guy I work with, but he's not too into computers, so he's not on here.
I would LOVE to find a girl locally that is as into fish as I am!

I don't really know anyone who loves fish as much as I do. one of my friends does like them a lot, and I have a girlfriend who likes to watch them, but that's about it. World of Warcraft, though, the fish friend of mine used to play that all the time. had to stop because it was affecting his GPA.

My girlfriend Buzz and I are both members and living in Trinidad just off the coast of Venezuela in the Caribbean.. but that's pretty much it as far as knowing any other members of Fishlore in person goes.. I gotta say though, there are Fishloreans who've been so helpful in the past, and don't hesitate to help if we need it now, that it's the next best thing to actually having them living next door lending us a cup of sugar!

There's a kid at my school who plays wow all the time, it's why he's dropped some of his honors classes so he can play more. He averages 50 hours of it on weekends and 8 hours on weekdays, he is obsessed and has been banned a few times for calling people names on it. It's pretty sad.

I have a friend who really got hooked up to the fish-keeping hobby. He got a 110 gallon tank and is keeping only Angelfish in there (4 of which are the ones I gave him). It turned out the 4 Angels I gave him are 2 pairs! He took one batch of eggs from one pair and now he's already raising baby Angels in another tank! ;D Also, one of my cousins has a 20 gallon tank with some small fish in it.

how CAN he make friends when he's shut away in his 4 walls 24-7!!!!! seems a lonely existance to me! its people like that, that worry me in the way I parent my boys. I won't let them have a computer in their room and they can only use the ps2 for an hour or so on a weekend downstairs....he's only 4, so I will allow some more gaming time when he gets older - but always have limitations on how much. I have a 9 yr old cousin who spends ALL his time gaming, and I don't want my son like that. I'll be encouraging him to play football and team games and be more social. my husband thinks i'm unreasonable and that he should play computer any time!!!! as he's a work most of the time I get to say what the kids do and don't do!!!!!!!!! as I say.....moderation is the key....excess isnt!

same as me!!! I don't smoke....never have. don't do drugs......never have............that leaves plenty of cash for chocolate which is my addiction!!!!! the amount I eat of it I should be obese!!! but as I I have 1 filling (caused by me falling on my face - not decay!!!! :-[) and a good weight......i'll carry on eating it!!!! when my dentist starts mentioning more fillings, or weight piles on I might change my ways!! ;D

Now you should get him to become an official angel breeder

Wel he doesn't really. My parents do that except more so. N ps2 during the school year except when you have a friend over or a special day off, none on the weekends excpet DDR. I don't really like it that much since I don't have that much time to play it anyways but when I want to play it I can't because my brother abused it by playing too much. I keep busy with track and cross country either running meets or hanging out with the team. Good idea to get them invovled, just not too involved.

sounds like you have the right idea atmmachine!!! i'm all for sport and education.....gaming is way down on the list of things to do!!! - but like you and your parents agree...it has a time and a place!! ;D

Tan.b, you're absolutely right about the gaming addiction! I don't know what it is going on with the kids these days. I believe the gaming addiction is very destructive to young kids and teens as they're spending their time isolated from the world. Not only that: They're also not learning anything from these games. Instead, they should be going out, joining various clubs (both sports and studies clubs), and if they like to stay home: READ BOOKS, and not play games or watch TV 24/7. It really is a serious problem in the majority of the developed (i.e. wealthiest) countries around the world. I know that when I have my own children, there will be NO GAMES and NO TV for them - well, maybe once in a while, so that they don't grow up to be "weirdos" who don't even know what a "game" or a "TV" is ... lol. BUT, you get the main idea: No self-destructive addictions like that for my kids! I believe they'll grow up to be much better and much more intelligent individuals when I incorporate a lot of learning into their lives (i.e. sports clubs, studies clubs, and lots of MANDATORY reading).

It's a riot to hear my daughter go off on some of the other kids in her class. I don't have to say a thing... she's already convinced most of the kids she goes to school with are aspiring fry-cooks!!!
Oh, and I think she's the only girl in the entire highschool that knows how where all the public libraries are!

I have many fellow fish keepers as friends.
The majority of them belong to the Atlanta club.
I haver also traveled to meet some of the others.
Gunnie heads up this way a few times a year to see Butterfly and me.

As for moderation, it may be good for most people, but I will pass.
125 aquaria, 15,000 books, 30,000 comics, 100 + bladed weapons, 40 orchids.

There is always less time, than things do do.
I sleep 5-6 hours a day.
I wil neither confirm or deny that I have a time machine.

Sidebar: Kids and others who get bored.
I do not understand why people claim to get bored.
Seems to me, too many people have gotten to the point that want everything to happen instantly, and have no patience.
Bored= too lazy to find something to do.

I sometimes get "bored" and come on here, though my mom won't let me come on unless she's home. Only when I get "bored" is when my parents won't let me do anything, no videogames, we can't take you anywhere (including library, i've read almost all the books that interest me in the house), no computer, no nothing so I find something to do which usually involves procrastinating. Only if they didn't restrict me so much.
