I have a question about substrate. I bought a bag of REGULAR, beach like yellow aquarium sand for my freshwater tank as originally I was going to switch my gravel out for sand. I ultimately decided not to do this. As I plan to start putting together a nano reef in the next 6-12 months or so, if I kept it, would it work as a shallow or deep sand bed for my reef tank? Or does it have to be something like aragonite to keep everything in check? I've tried looking online for this but can't find a definite answer, and I'm VERY much a newbie! Thanks!

You can certainly use it, though it does not offer the buffering benefits that aragonite or crushed coral would.
