I want to make smaller pieces of frozen fish food but the only way I know How to is letting it defrost and putting in in really small ice block forms. Is it safe to then refreeze it?
I don’t know I have tried it before and it just chatterd every time and I don’t want to waste the product.I could see it being possible but It also has the risks.
How about cutting the bigger chunks up?
Ah Yes I Will try that! Thank youIf I were to do this I would allow them to thaw in the refrigerator. You will want to keep them as cold as possible before refreezing. Instead of refreezing into smaller cubes maybe you could squash them flat and spread out inside a zip-lock bag. That way you could just break off a small chunk as needed.
Ah Thank you! I was scared that there would be bacteria in there.I buy my frozen fish & amphib food online. It arrives in an insulated box but as you might expect, it has partially thawed by the time it arrives. The instructions on the packets just state that it is perfectly safe to refreeze from partial or fully thawed so that is what I have always done and so far no issues with the fish being unwell from it.
