Refreezing frozen fish food questions.

Hi! I was just wondering, how many times and your refreeze frozen fish food, if at all. Other then only a few (Which are not the type of food I am looking for) all the frozen fish food I am given the option of choosing from are just one solid piece instead of the individual blocks. Even then I only plan on having one fish so I'd still need to refreeze it. Now, I do know I could cut it but that would be a little more inconvenient and while I'm willing to do it I'd prefer not to. So if anyone could tell me how many times I can refreeze frozen fish food that would be great! Thanks!

I wouldn’t re freeze it. I treat mine like human food and haven’t had any problems. If you’re looking for smaller amounts of food I used to pop it out and cut up a little bit then throw it right back in the freezer.

I dont think I would do it on purpose. My freezer door got left open a crack one day and some of my cubes were slushy and its been fine. I would be very cautious doing that, if at all.

I probably wouldn't. I know you say its inconvenient, but I think its worth it? I hope you don't mean unfreezing the whole cube then refreezing! That would probably take much longer than cutting. If you have small tanks I would predict that you still have to cut it even if you have cubes. I'm no scientist though so I don't even know if its not safe.
Of course I don't know how much of a hassle it is since I don't feed frozen lol.

I only have 4 Harlequin rasbora babies at the moment and I use a razor to shave off just a tiny amount of the cubes (like a couple grains of rice-worth), put the cube in a ziploc in the freezer, then I use a little pipette to get some aquarium water to thaw the worms and pour it in to the tank! No wormies wasted definitely no re-freezing once thawed. Loses the nutrients that way

I've been using an old mandoline to shave small pieces off of frozen cubes. It works great. You might be able to get one from a thrift store once they open back up.
If I tried chopping it up with a knife and somehow managed to not cut myself, the cube would probably go flying across the room and the rabbit would get it and it would be a big disaster!

I sometimes re-freeze it once. So I’ll shave off a bit and thaw it in a cup with a little tank water. But sometimes I’ll thaw too much so I’ll just put what I don’t feed in the cup in the freezer. I’ll thaw it the next day and use it. I haven’t seen any issues.
