So to make a long story short I was told by a petsmart lady that I could add two female bettas to my community tank for some color and something fun to watch that they can co exist together and with tetra fine as long as I don't hv long finned or slow fish I went ahead n got that bc I was returning my centerpiece dwarf gourami who was a from **** to get another center piece fish who were both asses from **** after a day they started chasing I didnt even give them time to get comfortable enough to nip took they bad asses out n separated them from each other bc they would chase the tetra but they would flare at each other n freak out all over the tank at a fast pace crazy I know my receipt is gone I threw it away so these girls are stuck I had just enough room in my apt for 2 3 gallon tanks I hope that would be suitable for them for now they're in this is this okay? Please give me some link to some awesome 3 gal tanks I'll have to buy two of them or a reference to a 5 gallon tank and a cheap divider I know I'll have enough room for two 3 gallon tanks or 1 5 gal tank with a divider but I feel the 3 gals to there self's would be better then a split 5 gallon I wanna give them a great home they can have to there self's I should of known they would be solitary bc they live in cups solitary never interacted with any other fish I can tell the girls are stressed with the down grade in space bc they're surfing on the edge of the plastic trying to swim forward it's kinda sad these were the biggest buckets I had the other temp option was tiny glass vases but they're tiny n slI'm so that would of been more torched no different then putting them in those betta cups so I just used these plastic containers ones a cereal container and ones a cheese ball container this is temp shooting for 2 3 gallon tanks or something for them 2 small tanks for there mean butts they're so darn cute I just want them to be happy I knew them chasing the other fish and one of another was not happy for them and I know the cups they come in aren't happy for them so maybe a 3 gal tank with some live plants with be happy for them what do u think of these temp containers n what do u think about me getting 2 3 gal tanks or using a divider on a 5 gal think theyll be happy or no

A 10 gallon with a divider would be better for them

I don't have any room for a 10 gal I'd have to buy a new desk to take up more room n my little apt I already have 4 aquariums I wanted a center piece fish for my nano community that's actually 10 gal also with neons I had one dwarf gourmI he was mean returned him asked for another centerpiece she said 2 guppys or 2 female bettas I thought the female bettas were prettiest so of course picked those she explained they were not like males so my question was answered and I was sold on them put them in ny tank they fought each other chased the neons took them out put them in two 2 gal containers for now till I go buy a 5 gal n divider or 2 three gal tanks for each of then n some free floating live plants like moss n stuff to decorate if I get a 10 gal I'll have to get the 10 gal tank a table a divider a heater if I get a 3 gal or 5 gal I got a desk I got a air pump not being used that can feed 4 tubes at once and a huge pack of minI sponge filters that attach to the air pump lines that I've had forever n some carbon pebbles to go in the sponge the sponge and air pump bam that's the filtration I got literally 2 auquaton minI heaters that heat up to 5 gal to 79 so if I get a 5 gal I'll have a heater n a spare one if I get the 2 3 gal both will have a heater so u see I know 10 gal would be best I wish they would be nice and be able to be in my community tank bc they loved the space I bet but they won't behave and a 10 gal is unconvient when I have everything to set up one 5 gal or 2 3 gal

I hope this doesn't come off as rude, but reading a lot of text is easier if you do things like use periods at the end of your sentences and use multiple paragraphs.

Ok sorry that I do not use punctuation. I typically use a laptop when getting on fishlore. It doesn't have auto correct or nothing. So I tend to just make run on posts. I'll use punctuation or make sure I'm on my phone for autocorrection since its confusing to people.

LOL, I assumed you were on a phone since most people I know find a computer keyboard easier to use than their phone's keyboard. Humans can be lazy creatures and seeing a "wall of text" as it is sometimes called will cause some of us to just move along to another topic. You may get more responses and/or better responses if you make it as easy as possible for us to follow what you're saying.

It appears that you have two requests:
  1. Opinions of your temporary containers.
  2. Suggestions for two small tanks or one 5 gal tank with a divider.
Is that right?

I know very little about bettas, but I thought females are generally okay together. If I were in your shoes, I'd probably go with a 5 gal tank for them for a few reasons:
  • larger space if they're okay together
  • option to insert a divider if needed
  • less equipment (filter, heater, thermometer, etc)
  • less maintenance

Thanks yeah I thought theyd get along also. They didnt lol so going to be getting a 5 gal with divider. I have them separated in containers bc they fought. They were in a very heavily planted 10 gal together. But they couldnt help but fight lol. A lady at petsmart suggested me getting 2 female bettas as centerpiece when I returned a dwarf gourmi. I have 6 neon tetra and had a gourmI he was mean traded him for another centerpiece fish. She said that either a guppy or female betta would be a lovely centerpiece. That they were peaceful compared to males so I chose two girl bettas. They chased every neon and flared n nipped at each other. So I separated them in those containers in the picture. And am getting a 5 gal to divide or two 3.5 gal kits I see online at petsmart

I couldn't get 3 to play nice even in a 75 gallon tank. Once I got 7 tempers calmed.

Thank you for this now I know I'm not just being crazy by separating them. My friend said let them fight n nip they're aggressive. I told her its stressful especially for my neons n seperated them

No your not crazy. I tried adding swordtails. That lasted almost a week till one morning they didn't have tails. So I had to re home them.
