Just read through most of this thread lol. The tank is looking awesome! Also I have on question. What do people do with rocks like that to keep them clean?
my white rocks? Nothing, really. If they grow algae then I hope someone eats it! I vacuum the white sand part of the substrate in this tank just to get the poop off the top.

Snails can really help with the algae, too

Also, here's a photo from today! It's not looking super impressive yet, but I think in another few weeks it will be really awesome. Also I know it would look better with a background, but I can actually see in from both sides which I really enjoy! Worse for photos though.
I'm still waiting for the dang wood to get waterlogged so I can take the big black rock off it.

Oh, I had some grey rocks in my tank for a while but took them out because they got lots of green algae on them so I took them out. Yours don't look like they have anything on them though.

In my current plan I am getting a school of 6 panda cories OR 8 pygmy cories. But I know these don't help with algae. I don't think I have enough room for snail(s) however so I am a bit stuck.

I’m so excited, these guys arrived safe and sound today!!! They’re acclimating and getting ready to go into quarantine. They all look great out of the box! I can’t believe how tiny the cories are, it will be so fun to watch them grow!

Those are likely pandas. At least I don't see anything in the picture that says otherwise.

Yes they are pandas! They’ve settled in very nicely to the QT and I’m in love already

YES! I had pygmies in my 10 with my betta before the drive across the country. The cutest little wigglies! I was so sad when I rehomed them but I just didn't think they were up to a 5 day journey... and they got to join a shoal of over 20 pygmies in a 55 sandy cory heaven!

The water sprite is really growing in! I'm loving having plants fill it up more but I need to get stuff growing more in that left side.
(featuring a cat-tail eel...)

I added a few nerite snails and they have POLISHED the tank of any algae! It's impressive! The cories and pleco in quarantine are still doing wonderfully. I'm SO anxious to get them in the main tank!! Patience is not one of my strong suits...

The plan was to introduce my new catfish into the tank tomorrow, if all is looking well (which it is!) but I'm seriously tempted to do it today... I'm home all day today and I've got work tomorrow... I don't know if it's logic or impatience talking!

The catfish are all moved in!! They are doing wonderfully so far, they love the super fine sand I have in the non-planted half of the tank. It took them about 45 seconds to get over their fear of the new tank and be gills deep wiggling about in the sand!
I had a moment of pure HORROR when I looked at one of them and thought it was COVERED IN ICH!!! I was about to have a nice little panic when the Cory did a little scoot and it all fell off! I think it’s just the sand. While watching them I keep seeing them covered in white dots and then totally clear and then kick sand back up on themselves.
the little pleco is doing great as well! She’s so bold, she got right to exploring and munching away. I know I’ve heard of plecos being shy, but not this girl!
