Should I strip fry from my red zebra Cichlid? I stripped 2 days ago and she seemed very tired so I decided to let her rest for about 20 minutes but when I came back she put all the babies back in her mouth except for two, I did not like stripping her and I could not get all the Fry out this is her first time it will be four weeks on the 4th since I have seen her eat i'm worried she might eat the fry.

In this case it might be best to just let her spit on her own. When you see all the fry swimming around, quickly take her out or she will gather them back up. My females never ate the fry after spitting them, even the first timers. They would gather the fry up at night and let them swim around during the day. It's pretty cute really, the fry will swarm the mother's mouth until she picks them up.

If you strip the fry, you need to put them in a separate tank from the mother, or she'll just keep picking them up (and then you're stripping and stressing her for no reason).
