Red Veins Normal?

Hi!

I just bought 4 new fancy goldfish over the weekend. They're in a 60 gallon tank with a hob filter on the left, a sponge on filter on the right, and an air stone in the middle. I'm a little freaked out because a couple of them are showing red veins on their fins. I grew up with some other tropical fish that belonged to my parents but these are my first fish... so I've tried to do a lot of research. When I looked it up I saw that red veins are a symptom of hemorrhagic septicemia. I'm fairly confident that it's not from the tank that I put them in because I did complete a fishless cycle and have been measuring levels each day- both ammonia and nitrite levels are coming up on 0ppm.

They seem fine though. When I added them to the tank they immediately started foraging. One of them seemed a little lethargic but has since perked up. I took a few pictures of them but the veins don't show up. The ones I've noticed having red veins have white tails though.

Since it's only been 5 days, how long do I need to wait to see if I need to treat them? I'm planning on doing a water change tomorrow or the next day just in case. Is this something that will clear up over time with consistent water changes?

How big are they? Do they have any skin lesions or ulcers that you can see? Did the red veins show up after you got them or did you notice them before that? How long ago did you get them? I'm going to tag FishFish221 .

Thank you, two of them are about 2 inches while the biggest one is 3 inches and the smallest one comes up at 1.5 inches.

I'm not sure if this counts as a lesion or ulcer. This one is one of the 2 inches.

I'll see if I can take betters picture of the fish in question which is also the other one that is 2 inches that has a couple of missing scales and a bit of nipped tail. That one has the most visible veins since I brought them home. That one is the one that was seemingly slow but behaves normally now.

It's only been a few days- 4, I just bought them on Saturday. There's hasn't been any problems with feeding them so far. They were all over the spinach leaves I put in the other day.

Update- levels are all normal. I took some more pictures today with a lens that doesn't distort but it took a while because I forgot that I had formatted my settings to capture everything in a raw format and so I had to make duplicate jpegs...

Oranda 1
This is the one that I said was a little lethargic but is much livelier now. He's missing a few scales on one side and is also the one displaying a red vein on his caudal fin.

Caudal Fin Vein
Missing Scales

Pearlscale
There is a pinkish(?) area on the white side.

I could post pictures of the other two but they're not displaying anything abnormalities.

I did water change, at 40%, yesterday and readings are still showing ammonia and nitrite at 0 while the ph is at 8.

So, um, just wanted to update. There is now a black streak on the pearlscale's caudal fin and the pinkish area is turning yellowish, all before the water change. The oranda on the other hand is doing much better now but "it" (I'll post in the fish id section lol) is still is missing scales, has a bit of a torn fin, and is showing that red vein.

I think I'm going to buy a quarantine tank midweek and try treating the two of them with aquarium salt. Newbie question though- will ammonia sit on the bottom of the tank mostly?
