Red Texas Cichlid Stuck

my new red Texas cichlid keeps going in this lil blue thing and gets stuck I help him out then he goes right back in there any reasons why?

 

Maybe he isn't stuck... If he's noticeably struggling, take the blue thing out. If he is new, he's probably a bit stressed and scared because of the move. Just be a bit patient with him.

 

What else is in the tank with him? Also, seeing that you are a new member, are you familiar with the nitrogen cycle?

I got 8 convict 2 Texas one red one regular 2 angelfish 3 loaches a lil oscar and sad to say 13 goldfish I need to get rid of

But how big is the tank? And based on your stocking I'm going to say he keeps hiding due to stress or water quality.

55 gal I just got him today so I'm hoping he just needs to get settled in his new tank and yeah the goldfish are paluting my water bad /:

 

8 convicts and 2 texas cichlids you're gonna deal with so much aggression and 55 gallon is so tiny for those guys. red texas are BRUTAL and if your convicts pair up it’s gonna be nothing but chaos

 

You need to pass the goldfish on before they cause major problems Your tank will need daily 80 per cent water changes until you get rid of the goldfish and move all the cichlids out.

Yeah Ima try to get rid of 6 of my convicts idk y I got so many hopefully that'll help balance things out
