Red tailed shark minimum tank size?

AquaticQueen

I have heard a lot of conflicting information on this question and I was wondering what you guys think. I have done some research and some say that red tails can be kept in 20 gallons which honestly, makes me cringe and I choose not to believe them. Others say 29 gallons or larger. Others also say 55 gallons. What is your guys' opinion?

IMO 55 gallons is the best minimum. I've never kept one, but after seeing them thats what believe

4ft tank.

40 breeder is probably the right answer.

55g, they're super territorial

GlennO

Yep 55 or 4ft in length.

They can get pretty huge (of course not obscenely big, but they're no small fish), so I'd say 55 gallons.
