Red Spots On Bettas Head

Wired

We have had our betta for less than a week. The red spots on his head seem to be more pronuounced as each day passes. Should I be concerned?

He is in a 3.5 gallon filtered heated tank.

Hello! Welcome to Fishlore
That looks to be his coloring, not an issue at all.

Yes bettas change color when they are happy and not sad and stressed out from being held in that cramped little cup. That means your doing a good job!

I don't know if you noticed or note but he has red on some of his fins to. It's just his color. Nothing to worry about. Glad you did worry though because if there was something wrong you did the right thing which was posting about it. We'd be able to help you of there was something wrong. So if you ever notice anything unusual about your fish and don't know what it is post about it like you did here.

Thank you everyone! Our first betta died within 72 hours. When we brought him back to store we found out that most of the Bettas from that batch had died at the same time. My children were heartbroken so I want to keep this one healthy.

That's weird. Were they all in the same tank?
