I have a lot of red slime algae in my tank, my clean up crew eats all the other mosses.
My tank is right next to a window so I think that's why, however my mom is convinced that's not the cause and we should repeatedly rip apart the tank and start over. Which is not good for our fish and seriously risks the life of my mandarin goby and his food supply.
What causes red slime algea?
Any tips?
65 gallon tank
High salinity (working on taking this down)
Other than that we have good water.
Fish:
Two clowns
One royal gramma
One blue spot puffer
One mandarin goby
Other creatures:
Two pin cushion sea urchins
One sickly nem (probably due to prolonged high salinity)
Five tiny hermit crabs
Three sexy shrimp
Nothing seems to eat the red slime algae except the sea urchins but they only eat little bits. Please help.
