I'm trying to decide if I should get red or orange cherry shrimp. I have a heavily planted tank with black sand and a black background. There's some wood and lava rock in there. I also have red root floaters. I think the bright red would catch your eye, but also blend in with the red root floaters, whereas the orange would accent all the greens and look nice. What should I do?

I have both and I really prefer the red. They are a vibrant bright red whereas my oranges are actually kind of dull looking.

I also have a black background with wood and my red cherries stand out and "pop' more than the oranges or blues.

Ok thanks for the insight! I also have some neon tetras so I don’t want the shrimp to be the main piece…I don’t know what to do…I’m VERY indecisive when it comes to stocking decisions

Alright I’m getting red. I had my family pick one and they all chose red. Orange is also more expensive so it’s a win win :)

Cherry shrimp eat biofilm so it is important that the tank has been running for at least a few months. You can add some shrimp specific food and blanched veggies occasionally.

The tank has been set up for 9 months. Do you have any specific brands you would recommend? Also meaning occasionally do you mean 1 time a week, 1 every 2 weeks, etc….?
