Red Ingot Fish Care Info?

Hello,
A few weeks ago at my local fish store I saw a tank of Blood Parrot fish, and there were 2 slightly larger fish I thought were beautiful. I researched blood parrots and bought a large tank, just for this blood parrot fish.

When I went back to purchase the fish, there was only one left, and on a closer look I realized that it didn’t look much like the juvenile blood parrot. I talked with the employee and he said the fish I liked was actually a Red Ignot fish, and that they rarely get them in the shop.

I ended up buying the fish and he is super cool. The issue is that I have found very little about Red Ingots online. I have been caring for him based on recommendations for Blood Parrots for now.

Any one out there have any breed info for specifically Red Ingots? Feeding, sizing, water parameters, origins, etc?

I don’t know much about them but I think the red ignition fish are super expensive and hard to come by? Are you sure it’s not a blood parrot or KKP?

That’s what the store employee told me. He said they rarely get them in.
It was in a tank with multiple very small blood parrot fish, with the indented forehead look. There were also 2 *very* large adult parrot fish (he told em that were about 10yrs old) in the tank that were not for sale. The one I purchased was the only one of its type. It’s highlighter pink rather than the orange color that the blood parrots were. It’s about 4” long and tall, 1.5” wide right now. Employee estimated that it is about 1 year old.

He didn’t mention anything about having KKP. The fish cost me $40.

 

I have a blood parrot that is high lighter pink but her mouth is deformed. Maybe yours in an ignot! That would be a steal if it is what the employee told you
