So I have a female guppy and I have tried to breed her with my other male and I don't know if shes pregnant or not. Shes kinda boxy and gravid spot is kinda big but it is a orange red color. And she hasn't given birth for at least 5 weeks and idk if she is pregnant anymore. Please help

I tried to get a good pic of her, she is also very shy and when I get close she swims away

I tried to get a good pic of the Gracie spot

If he "did his job" wouldn't that mean that the female IS pregnant?

Well I guess so, but guppy’s can hold the sperm right? Or am I missing something?

That’s a shame. I got another male for her and hopefully they’ll have fry.

It's really hard to say with those photos but any time you put male and female guppys together, the females get pregnant. If she's fatter and boxier than she was 5 weeks ago, it's a good bet that she's pregnant.

If the fry are light coloured like she is, there's a chance the gravid spot won't be as dark. To me, she does look pregnant.

In case a female guppy is pregnant, it doesn't have to be that the gravid spot should be black or very dark. There are sufficient females that have a lighter colored gravid spot during the whole pregnany. It may darken a bit but still remains far from almost black. A lot of blonde, golden and bronze bodied females will show lighter colored gravid spots.
