My son loves the color red and every time we talk about fish he wants a red one (he's almost 3)
My future stock plan is:
One angel
6 Cory sterbi
3 mollies
I have a very decorated 30inx12.4inx22in tank.
Getting ready to put 3 mollies in tonight!
Any suggestions on red or partly red fish that would work.
I have some ideas like dwarf gourami but I'm wondering if there's a better idea.
Female Bettas are as iffy as DG aren't they?
I might just name one of the mollies Red and try to settle ****

How big is the tank? (Scratch that. Saw the dimensions. But I was looking for gallons.)

Platy and swordtail both come in red. Cherry barbs (check temperature compatibility ) Several types of tetra are red or red striped. (Again verify temperature compatibility . Also all shoaling fish (tetras and barbs) should be in groups of six.)

Since I have mollies would a swordtails or platy be happy with them solo?
It's about 37 gals but with all the decor closer to 30 full probably. Idk

Harlequin Rasboras are red as well. I have a few in my 50 gal community tank, and they are very peaceful.

Would a solo swordtail or platy do best with the other tank mates or are they basically the same temperament. I'll research also just wondering others experience or thoughts

You can get a cranky one, just like with any breed, but for the most part platy and swords are pretty peaceful.

Would getting a male sword be bad? Would they harass the mollies? I have 1 male and 2 female mollies?

Serpaes have a reputation for been aggressive . For a community tank, I would avoid.

You could do a male Swordtail, sure.

Yesterday I asked what kind of red fish would go grwat with my stocking plan.
I was suggested either a platy or a swordtail?
I would only be getting one (I do have 3 mollies)
Which would do better solo or are then basically the same?
Also, does it matter if I get male or female?
My mollies are one male to two females.
Also going into the tank are 6 cories and one angel.
