Red Claw Crab Dead After Molting???

hi guys,
i have been all over the internet trying to find an answer to what is going on with my crab but i haven’t been able to find any situation similar to what i am experiencing.

i’ve had red claw crabs for almost a year now (the first one i had was wonderful but unfortunately escaped and wasn’t found until it was too late). after this i went out and got another and she has been doing great. i’ve had her for almost a month now and she has been eating and acting normal. i noticed she had been sitting out of the water a lot more and not eating so obviously i was prepared for her to molt. this morning i realized she molted, but it was different than any other molt i’ve seen before!!! her exoskeleton seems to have “absorbed” all of her color? she has been sitting in my tank lifeless and non-reactive for about 12 hours now. she has all of her limbs perfectly intact, she is almost colorless though.

i don’t know how long to wait before i call it and accept that she’s dead; i know they hide for days after they molt but she is just out in the open and not moving at all. have they been known to go into a “hibernation” state after molting?

please help, i’m so unsure about what is happening/ has happened here!

i’ve attached some images to help visualize what i am describing. (her “exoskeleton” was found between the plant and the hideaway)

thank you for answering! i moved her with the net and she is limp. the way i found the “exoskeleton” is what lead me to believe it was not her, the skeleton was still upside down on the other side of the tank, it appeared she had crawled away from it and over to the plant. i took the exoskeleton out to examine further and it looks mostly hollowed out from what i can tell. the exoskeleton is missing both claws but she still has all of her limbs completely intact. i have no other crabs in the tank with her, just a few cory catfish so it’s not likely something would’ve ripped her claws off after molting.

I miss read things pick her up with your hand if shes limp then shes probably dead from the stress of the moult

Sounds like a partial failed moult and the stress of having to release her claws as well was bit to much, theres nothing you could do. You should see the claws in the old shell pick her up with your hand and put her on the rock for a while

just went to move her and she definitely did not make it, just so strange because i have no idea what could’ve happened

thank you for your input, i really appreciate it!!

after further examination it looks like she might’ve gotten stuck in her molt & ripped her abdomen open, super sad but unfortunately that’s life
