There are a couple of competing products on the market designed to destroy red algae and Cyanobacter. I have tried them, and they have been effective with no apparent harm to my fish. However, they have the trade secret thing going - no ingredients listed and a very mysterious way of working.
Do any of you know what's in them, and therefore what we are letting loose on our tanks when we use them?
I hate not knowing what a process I am using is. I am not a trusting soul.

Do you know if this product is harmful to plants?

Cyanobacteria can be killed with erythromycin, so I would imagine that's the main ingredient in those products. No idea for the red algae, sorry!
