Recycling Reptile Decorations In Aquarium

Hello all.
I'm redoing my axolotl tank and wanted to use a couple of the reptile decor I have laying around. I don't recall the tags stated they weren't for use in aquariums, but does anyone know? Has anyone ever tried this before?

It can be sketchy, Your better off the other way around ( AKA fish stuff is cheaper then reptile plants) Some reptile things are not made for water unless it says. Like things for my crested gecko are clearly water proof because they need moisture. But for my leopard gecko those caves aren't made for water. What are you useing? Ive put some of my water proof reptile plants in my tanks for fish to hide in.

It really depends what it is and who makes it. It could be painted with paint not meant for submerging, anti-microbial coating, it may be sealed with something other than the usual and safe silicone, etc. On the flip side, it may be fine, it’s just impossible for me to say yes or no.

The bonsaI tree, turtle ramp and this twisty wood thingy my beardie used to bask on. All decorations are from petsmart.

i've used deco meant for terrariums in my aquatic frog tank. they were made of resin and the paint wore off over time but it didn't affect my frogs. it depends on what you're using, I guess. see if you can look them up on petsmart's website or go to petsmart and look at the tags/product descriptions.
