I got a black molly about a month ago. I put it in a quarantine when I got it for about a week along with 4 other fish.
After 7 days the black molly developed ich. I treated it in the tank along with the other fish. After 5 days of treatment and waiting another few days they all looked fine and I moved them into my main tank.
2 days later the black molly again developed ich. I put it in quarantine and re-treated for 5 days. I moved it into the main tank after I saw the quarantine had traces of nitrites.
The black molly was good for 6 days and then again developed ich. I have since put him back in the quarantine and have begun a third round of treatment.
What gives on this recurring ich? It's only this ONE fish. No other fish have shown any symptoms.
Water quality of the main tank has been 0, 0, 40. Yes, Nitrates are high, but they haven't been that level the entire time of this process. Levels of the quarantine were 0, 0, 20 except for that one spike of ammonia / nitrites which I promptly removed the fish from.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Thanks
