Recommended dosage for Levamisole

HI all,

I have to treat my Rams with Levamisole for Camallanus worms and just wanted to see if there is a consensus for dosage.

The most common dose I see is that 5 grams treats 100 gallons and you need. I'm planning on following this which I found on aquabid.

You simply mix the 5 gallon of packet of Levamisole HCl powder with 10 fluid ounces of water (1 1/4 cups) until it is well dissolved. One fluid ounce or two tablespoons of the mixed solution should be used for every 10 gallons of tank water. You can store any unused stock solution in a glass container with a plastic lid (don't use a metal lid) for up to 3 months in your refrigerator, but make sure it is properly labeled and not accessible to children

Does anyone see any problems with that?

Good morning,

Hate to hear that you are having to deal with these critters. Check out the information in the link below while you wait for more responses:

Thanks Ken! That's confirms my thoughts on treatment. I'm pretty confident my fish will all make it. They are fairly strong and eating still so I have a good feeling I caught this soon enough. I've been feeding them frozen shrimp and blood worms only all week to strengthen everyone for the treatment.

Hello,

Glad to help. You can also add Garlic Guard to the fishes food to help boost the immune system and Vita Chem for additional Vitamins:

You can also use Garlic Juice from minced garlic in a jar (water based and not oil based):
https://www.fishlore.com/aquariumfi...r-just-an-example-for-those-needing-it.62705/

Or make your own garlic juice from fresh garlic using the recipe below;
"Benefits of garlic:

Purifies blood; detoxifies; lowers cholesterol levels; lowers blood pressure; blood thinner; prevents blood clots; boost immune system; prevents heart disease and strokes; destroys cancer cells; muscle relaxant; antibiotic; antifungal; suppresses growth of tumors
Using a medium size bulb; peel cloves apart, snip off ends; microwave cloves for 5 to 10 seconds to pop hulls; remove hulls; cut the length of the cloves in thin slices; place in cup of hot (from tap) water; cover, and let sit at room temperature for 12 hrs; mash the cloves and strain for immediate use; refrigerate until needed. good for two to three weeks.
The longer the cloves soak, the stronger the solution."

The information above comes from the link below:

I've been feeding them NLS Thera A which has garlic in it. Would I still need to use the above also? I also picked up Deworm 3 which has Levamisole in it from Angels Plus to feed my fish in between treatments. I figured the more the better to get rid of these worms.

Hello,

I think feeding the NLS with garlic should be just fine.
