Recommended Algae Eater(s) For Betta 5 Gallon

I have two 5 gallon betta tanks that I added a few extra plants to recently. Over the last few days, I have had an algae bloom, mostly brown algae. I took the plants out and cleaned them using water removed from the tank. A few days later, it returned once again. I am limiting the amount of light but think I need to get some sort of algae eater. (I have 1 Siamese in my planted 26 and he does a fantastic job). Is there some sort of snail that can co exist with the betta that would help?

 

Nerite snails would work great

Maybe a nerite snail? I have one in my betta tank and he does a great job whenever algae appears.

They are fun to watch too. Would be good if you have some kind of cover or lid to your tanks, snails sometimes try to escape! My nerite has never gotten out due to my tanks having hoods/covers but I did find him on the underneath part of the lid before. I was about to feed my fish and I open the lid and there he was hanging on for all he was worth. Others here have found them on the floor, across the room before, not good as I don't know how long they can survive out of water. I don't want to dissuade you from getting them, they are awesome little cleaners and cute to boot. Just wanted you to be aware. Hope they help.
