Recommendations for a good heater for a 46g?

Found out my heater isn't working well on my 46g. Lights up but isn't emitting heat apparently. Temp has usually sat at 77 but its getting cold and now is sitting at 71 even though I turned the dial up max to deal with some potential ich...

And it remained at 71 all day.

So, I need a new heater.

Temp range of this tank needs to sit between 74-77F but id like the heater to be adjustable to high temps in case of ich.

The tank is a planted 46 gallon.

I usually use Aqueon Pros but i've found a new favorite with the Finnex HPG filters. You can adjust the temp from the wire instead of the heater unit and i've found they are very accurate within a degree or 2. I have a 300w in my 55. That is the one I would go with if I had your 46 bow. Also they have the tank temp on the heater unit.

I know this a little bit older thread but figured I would chime in Based on your opinions I never got around to upgrading my heater today so I'll look into that Finnex that you've all been talking about

I actually just got my new heater the other day, I opted for an eheim jager heater, it was more affordable for our budget at the time, and I'm quite happy with my choice.

I figured that fish care seems more advanced in europe, a european made heater may be promising lol

I use Ehiem Jagr heaters. They are the best IMO.
also I’d go with 2 smaller than needed heaters in case one goes bad. If one sticks on your fish won't cook and vise versa. If one dies Andes t turn on the other 150 water will keep you I. The ballpark.

I've got 3 fluval m series heaters and a ehiem jagr.

The fluvals are nice because they are very sleek looking, compact, and easy to adjust. They don't have a very big range though which I think is their shortfall.

The Jager is a big boy compared to the fluvals. Has a nice wide range. I have to remove mine from the tank though to adjust the temp though as the dial is very stiff and from the factory wasn't very accurate although it is super easy to calibrate.
