Okey so where I live there's this nice green terror I want about 6-7 inches and I have a red devil which is about 5-6 inches and a black belt that's about 4-41/2 inches if the store excepts fish and buys them from me or fish credit how much should I price them I just want enough to buy a $70 fish I'm pretty sure those two a good yes? if not I also have a jack dempsey about 4 inches maybe bigger.

LFS buy them cheaper than retail so they can make money when they sell them.

You have to consider a lot when a LFS buys from you. If they sell that fish for $50, they have to consider purchase price, feeding, housing, business overhead, and profit. Selling to a LFS I would expect no more than 20% of purchase price, if you're lucky.

Have you tried facebook, craigslist, or a local group forum?

I don't mind paying for the fish but I wanted to know if they were willing to trade the fish so technically they didn't really lose fish

It doesn't hurt to ask if you can trade your 2-3 fish for their one.

If it's a chain store, unlikely. If it's a local shop it'll depend on owner and brand.
I watched a guy trade 8 large piranhas for 2 4" Mbunas the other day. I think both sides won there.

Exactly! TexasDomer ;D I just like approval before I do things its pet land discounts but they have really nice fish and I wouldn't really say a chain store because literally two people work there and I'm kinda friends with the aquarist she was willing to knock down $15 when I asked for him. So ill call and tell them I want to trade a red devil, black belt, and jack dempsey? I'm fine if I still got to pay a little maybe 20-30 dollars at most.

Youd most likely be better off selling them to someone and then buying the fish you want. Taking in fish that size is usually more of a burden than a blessing since they can't just go anywhere like smaller/younger fish can. If the lfs is decent they will also quarantine them for a few weeks, so its not really all that great of a deal for them unless they get them free or super cheap. It doesn't hurt to ask, though.

Yeah ill just ask and see idk maybe I don't even have to pay and trust me they don't have a quarantine tank they will most likely pop em back in I brought the jack dempsey and black belt the red devil was a trade for my oscar and some dither fish the oscar was small like 3 inches maybe.
Ill try to see if they just want to do a fish trade the green terror is beat up a bit since he's being bullied that's why I want him but I've always liked them either way. His tail is pretty beat up and his head seems like its peeling but its not ich or hith I looked at him just battle scars and all but hopefully he'll be better if I get him ill send a before and after pics? if you guys want to see healing process you know that stuff.
