Really Grossed Out

hey guys, there's been a snag in my plans. I live in my boyfriends parents basement which flooded about 6 months ago. we were going to stay here until we got our own house, but now its looking like we’re going to have to split up for a little while and ill have to go back to my moms. there's mold in the bedroom/bathroom, and even worse is we discovered the mold due to an infestation of mold mites. which is absolutely disgusting.
first off I want to ask if these mites could somehow hurt my fish because unfortunately some of my tanks are in the bedroom where there are tons of them.
also I just wanted some advice on what to do with my fish. I'm devastated. I will not be able to keep the 55 gallon, that's for sure. I have 7 bettas I don't know what to do! I know shes not going to let me bring all my tanks if even half of them. I'm about to just live in mold so I don't have to get rid of my fish, I'm at a loss. any advice?..

Oh, that's no fun at all!
You need to keep that room dry, and free of humidity or anything damp.
They won't hurt your fish, only if they manage to climb in there, which I think is unlikely, because they would most likely drown.

You also need to vacuum the areas where they are infested at, and constantly check that room for overall cleanliness.
I haven't dealt with mold or mites, but let me tell you that mice and rats are not fun in a house. Neither are any other uninvited guests.

even if I do take all the tanks out of the room and hook up the dehumidifier and try to constantly vacuum and bleach, there will still be mold so the problem will stay. when we found the bugs we investigated and the baseboard that was behind the bed is falling off and crumbling, and right next to the shower in the bathroom there's a big patch of black on the wall that was behind a table. this is a nice house but when it flooded they never got a professional clean up! they just tore the carpet up and put down a new one ): and I mean, its really none of my business, its not my house. but all my tanks are here!!!! idk what to do!

Have you considered a pest control company for this?

I have thought about it but this isn’t my house and honestly I don’t have much money. I'm more concerned about the mold then the bugs. I moved out of the bedroom and am staying in the unfinished area so I'm not around the bugs unless I'm tending to the tanks. i’m 19 and my only job at the moment is doordash so I don't really have the funds to get rid of the mold and the bugs. my boyfriends parents don’t really even own the house either, they rent.

Well, these bugs do multiply quickly, so it's best to get them removed before they populate the area even more.

my boyfriend just wants us to move out because they’re so reluctant to even get it checked out down here. they say they’re “embarrassed” because the basement is storage and its a mess which is so ridiculous. they’re not taking care of the home at all. id be fine moving out but what about all my fish ):

If they’re renting, the owner should take care of the problem. But that’s up to his parents not you. All of the things I could tell you on how to stop this problem will cost money. As you said, it’s not your house or your responsibility. First, tell your mom how many tanks you want to bring home with you. Ask her if it’s ok. Ask her about the 55. Moms usually love their babies. (You’ll always be her baby, get used to it). If she’s willing to let you come home to live, I’m betting she’ll let you bring your tanks. My momma put up with a whole lot worse than fish for me. If it was hurt or sick, it came home. So. Take a deep breath. Tell your mom you love her. Tell her how much it’ll hurt you to have to give up your babies.
