Real Siamese algae eater ?

Anders247

Looks like an SAE to me.

I have a SAE that looks just like that. My LFS sold him as a Flying Fox. I believe the latter would have had darker fins. Mine has the golden transparent fins like yours.

Def a true SAE

MJDuti

I agree as well. Go by the black line running through its body. If it goes all the way through its tail, then it's a true SAE. Awesome fish, never stops picking at things, even eats hair algae, just a little too spastic.

I love him! I had massive beard algae problem and he cleaned it up in a week!

They need a group of 6 or more, too. They're a schooler.

I've never heard this before. God that'd be a crazy school of fish. Plus I've never seen one get to the 6" mark they say they can.

I only have one . I've had him just over a year and he is 3.5". He seems to be growing like a weed. I'll try to post a picture of my Hoover if I can.

I had no clue they get that big that's why I wanted to know if he was a true sae he is in my 10gl and is starting to get past the 2-3 inch mark. I guess he will have to move on to the 20gl
