Do they really need it? If so, will reptile calcium work?

 

Do you have really soft water? Usually for shrimp it won’t be necessary imo, especially if you feed a good quality shrimp diet. Also supplement with green veggies. Not sure about the reptile calcium, when needed a lot of people use cuttlebone.

 

My vampire shrimp has molted no problem with no calcium does that matter? I’m not sure about our water harness

You’re probable fine, I wonder if your water supply lists any info online? If you see molting problems later, you can always start using it.
