I've been randomly losing white clouds and zebra danios. One day they'll all be fine, and within the same day, one minnow or danio will be dead for no apparent reason. All of the other fish (panda cories, platies, bn pleco, amano shrimp, snails) are fine and I haven't lost any. None of the fish show signs of sickness beforehand. The ones I've found dead seem to have slightly red bellies.

Tank

What is the water volume of the tank? 20 gallon long
How long has the tank been running? June 2019
Does it have a filter? Yes
Does it have a heater? Yes
What is the water temperature? 73 F (about 23 C)
What is the entire stocking of this tank? (Please list all fish and inverts.) Currently 4 White Cloud Minnows, 2 Zebra Danios, 7 Panda Cories, 3 baby Platies, 1 Bristlenose Pleco, 2 Amano Shrimp, 1 Nerite Snail.

Maintenance
How often do you change the water? Weekly
How much of the water do you change? 50%
What do you use to treat your water? Prime
Do you vacuum the substrate or just the water? Both

*Parameters - Very Important
Did you cycle your tank before adding fish? Yes
What do you use to test the water? API Master Test Kit
What are your parameters? We need to know the exact numbers, not just “fine” or “safe”.

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: <5
pH: 8.2

Feeding
How often do you feed your fish? Every other day
How much do you feed your fish? A pinch of food for the top/middle swimming fish, 4-5 shrimp pellets for panda cories, 1 algae wafer for bn pleco
What brand of food do you feed your fish? Hikari, Omega 1, Aqueon
Do you feed frozen or freeze-dried foods? Yes, frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms sometimes

Illness & Symptoms
How long have you had this fish? I got most of these fish about a month ago
How long ago did you first notice these symptoms? No apparent symptoms until death
Have you started any treatment for the illness? I added a little API aquarium salt, but not much because of the pleco and cories
Was your fish physically ill or injured upon purchase? No
How has its behavior and appearance changed, if at all? Slightly red belly when dead

Your pH is high and your temperature is low. The temp may be the bigger issue. Try going up to 78 and see if that helps. They could be bad stock as well.

Don't the majority of my fish prefer cooler water?
