Ram Aggression

I have 1 female GBR and 1 female Gold Ram in a 55g. Ive had them for about 2-3 weeks. The gold ram started to be aggressive to everyone but the other ram. And just a few days ago the GBR is chasing only the gold ram around. It doesn't look like its chasing from territory because its all over the tank and constant chasing. There are no ripped fins or anything, just looks that the gold ram is super stressed, breathing heavily and losing a little color.

I'll start by saying I don't know much about rams but, are they of the same sex? Could it be mating behaviour?

Other than that, they are cichlids and cichlids are known to be aggressive.

They are both 100% females. They do both also look like they are ready for a mate. It is just constant fighting. I do have a 20 gallon tank but It has a betta in it that is very picky about tankmates. She is ok with a bolivian and a gourami, when I added one more gouramI she did not like him.

And that is exactly what happened lol. I'm happy the betta is ok with the ram; the gbr actually had one of its side fins ripped almost in half which I didnt see until it was in the smaller tank. I was about to get an electric blue ram but now I think the gold one should be the only one in the tank.

I decided to move the blue one back into the large tank because her fins healed up and she was not looking good in the 20g, losing color and appetite. The second I put her in she and the gold ram started fighting. Will it eventually die down or will they fight to the death? Its off and on until they see eachother. Its aggressive fighting too.
