Rainbow wagtail?

Got this fish at PetSmart the other day. I think he was labeled as some sort of blue platy but after doing a search online I think he may be a Rainbow Wagtail. Am I right? The front part actually has sort of an iridescent blueish hue under the lights.

That's so crazy! I think I may go to my mom pop shop in the next few days and see if I can find another cool platy. He's currently grouped with my swordtails but I think I want another platy.

Thanks. Those are cool. I really like the blue spotted, Dalmatian, blue Mickey Mouse, half black, and calico. I love the different bright colors and markings. I wish our local stores had more varieties like those!

You can always order them online! I haven't heard of most of the names you mentioned (except for the micke mouse platy) but I looked them up and they are so cool!

The only reason I know them is from looking online! Lol I've spent a TON setting up my tanks so if I can't find them locally I'll just have to wait a while to order them. One place I looked charged like $35 to ship!

That's cheaper than most... and yes, petsmart often mislabel their fish as well as the reason that sometimes the "fish" that are labeled are all sold out but their name tag is still there.

Really? I have really only looked at one place and I can't even remember where it was. I think I've got a web window still open. My problem is I have eyes for like a 200 gallon tank but only have a 38 gal and a 20 gal that I plan to use for fry.

What are the best places to buy online?

You could check out a couple of these places, live aquaria, aqua swap (here on the forum), aquarium fish etc...there were a couple of others, but I don't remember them at the moment.

Aquariumfish is the one I had looked at before. They seem to stay out of stock on a lot of fish too.

Haven't tried that place, but they seem like a good source.

I actually found some on eBay ... pondering whether or not to buy from them. I checked out their main website too. Manzanita-driftwood.com

They had some of the celestial pearl danios and ember tetras on eBay. I want to add a few small fish like that along with a couple more platys but I just can't make up my mind! I need to check out the LFS again. They can order me fish too!

If your lfs is a dependable one I'd order with them.

They've been around my whole life I guess. The employees seem knowledgable but I'm also pretty new to the game so I'm still researching. Their tanks are always clean and seem happy. I'll probably go in tomorrow and see if I can order a couple and see how it goes. I think I can order Wednesday and receive them Friday.

I didn't order anything but did get a white skirt tetra to go with my multI colors of glo tetras. I also got a Dalmatian platy to go with my rainbow platy and red wag swordtails. Still trying to decide what nano school I might want to add ... I was wanting some celestial pearl danios but he said they were about $12 each. They are super tiny but really cool looking. I just can't decide!

I bet he'll look pretty cool with those glo tetras, yea, that's quite a lot for a single fish, but I can understand as they are newly entered fish in the hobby, and still in demand.

I actually found some on eBay for quite a bit less ... including shipping!

I love how all of the tetras are swimming around together already and I just introduced him this afternoon ...
