So I'm setting up a new aquarium (Cichlid tank) and I've come across this rainbow cobblestone at the local DIY store. I was wondering whether anyone else has come across them and know's whether they safe to go in the tank. I did notice that there was some residue coming off the stone when I was rubbing the stones in water so I think they will need a good scrub before I even think of putting them in.

It should be fine, but see if it fizzes when poured over with vinegar.

I plan on doing the vinegar test tomorrow morning already. I'll give them a good clean and take water readings over the week to make sure nothing has changed.
