Not rabbit snails but I bought 2 Japanese trap door and 2 mystery snails from my LPS last week. I’ve been eyeing trap doors for a while but didn’t want to order them online. These guys were an impulse buy, soon as I saw them I had to get them.

I figured they were similar to rabbits in terms of breeding, a few babies every couple weeks... well they have more than a few! 15 babies, a couple are stacked and then there’s 3 more I already moved to another tank. I wouldn’t be surprised if I missed some.

I guess I’ll be selling most of them if the 2 females (judging by their tentacles) keep having large batches. They’re pretty cute, I hope their shells stay nice and clean unlike the adults.

A long overdue update, today’s water change haul. 20 plus 2-3 that are still in the main tank. 5 are teeny tiny so will be getting extra TLC in a breeder basket. The two off to the right are yellow rabbits, so now that’s a total of 3 I’ve had born in my tanks.

As for deaths, one orange and one chocolate adult passed. I think the chocolate died because of me, I found it buried in the sand under a rock.

It’s been over a year since my last update! Rabbits are still alive and well, one of the light shelled oranges died on me some time ago. I did keep back a bunch of the light shelled babies and raised them to sub-adult size though!

I just moved these 8 into a separate tank, hopefully I can get them breeding to make more of the same color. They are probably about 1yr old now, very slow growing. Brown rabbit for color comparison.

Also got to see a new born rabbit still partially inside it’s egg casing. A rare find for me.
