Hi, everyone! So my old betta with bad fin damage looked AWFUL yesterday morning, so I put him in my large breeder box. He was struggling to reach the top of the tank. After I put him in, he started to relax and swim to the top when he wanted. I put stress coat + in, and he immediately started eating after not eating for two days. He also seemed more curious and engaged when I moved outside the tank. He hasn't been acting like that in weeks. I'm cautiously optimistic. I think he still has some life in him. I finally got my air pump, and I attached it to my breeder box, so the water flow is good in there. The box was messy with some uneaten food, so I put my female cory in there for an hour with him. He perked up even more with some company, and she cleaned that box like a Roomba! So far, so good. I'll check on him when I get home again and let you all know if anything has changed. Thank you for all of your advice and support! I really appreciate it!
Edit: He's super happy being in the box, so I'm going to leave him in there for one more day (until Friday morning). If he's feeling good, I'll let him out; if not, I'll keep him in another day. It seems like a little R+R is helping, though. I'll put a cory buddy in there for short periods throughout the day, so he doesn't get lonely. He loves my corries and sometimes my betta, and one of the corries share the floating log, or they all sleep together on the gravel.
Thanks!
